2009 Conference: Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG)

May 19, 2009

Looking for a summer family trip that is educational & inspirational for parents and fun & engaging for kids?  Check out the SENG Conference.

Parents of gifted kids know that their children tend to be intense, sensitive, quirky (and, in most cases, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree).  SENG (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted) was founded to address the needs of gifted kids beyond mere academic stimulation.  SENG believes that recognizing, understanding, and accepting the unique social and emotional needs of the gifted are the first priorities for teachers, parents, and counselors. SENG supports strong gifted education programs, but also believes the emotional piece is the foundation for the development of healthy, happy, well-adjusted, appropriately educated, and contributing gifted members of society.

Looking for help on addressing your child’s emotional needs?
SENG Conference
Orlando, Florida
July 17-19, 2009

They have programs for children as well — even an excursion to Disney World!

Interested in addressing your child’s emotional needs without the travel?  For CGA members, we will offer SENG Parenting Discussion Groups in Fall 2009, Tuesdays starting September 22. Watch for registration information later this summer.
