Your son plays Legos™ contentedly by himself all day. Your daughter can’t seem to put a book down, and you’re running out of age-appropriate books for her to read. Raising a gifted child has its blessings… and its challenges! The good news is you’re not alone in figuring out these special nuances of parenting your gifted child.
Coppell Gifted Association provides a unique opportunity to bring parents together for a weekly discussion group (SENG) during the months of September to November to support each other and share experiences.
The parent discussion group will use The Parent’s Guide To Gifted Children by James Webb, Janet Gore, Edward Amend and Arlene DeVries as an outline for discussion. It provides practical insight into the characteristics of gifted children, including:
Characteristics | Stress & Depression |
Communication | Acquaintances & Peers |
Motivation & Underachievement | Only Children and Siblings |
Discipline & Self-management | Challenging Customs & Parent Relationships |
Only open to CGA members.
