SENG Parent Discussion Group
Is it just my kid? No one understands. Actually, lots of parents right here in Coppell understand the life of raising a gifted child and SENG is a place to talk about it.
September 29th – November 17th
9:30am – 11:00am
First United Methodist Church – Coppell
Parents read A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children and trained facilitators Elizabeth Chappell and Joan Bush will guide discussion about the material and how it applies to their lives. Karen Cook, a past SENG participant said, “I appreciated a forum where I could speak openly about situations, personalities, and uniquenesses in my children without the fear of odd looks or rolling eyes. I gathered ideas to try for current parenting issues and tucked away ideas for the future.”
In addition to just learning, just getting to know other parents that understand can be a huge benefit. Karen went on to explain, “Mostly, I developed relationships with other parents who also wanted the best for their children. I have a few more names and numbers to call for advice when navigating life with gifted children.”
