January 30, 2011

FT. Worth Museum of Science & History
Celebrate Engineers Week at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History! See how much fun aerodynamics, science, math and technology can be through engaging engineering activities alongside engineers from IBM, Lockheed Martin and other area corporations. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of this engineering-packed week through many STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) activities.
Dallas Museum of Nature & Science
MNS celebrates National Engineers Week with hands-on activities and demonstrations specifically for students. At this year’s installment of our annual week-long celebration, you can make a motor from inexpensive items you may even have laying around your house, learn about alternative energy sources, and try your hand at completing a variety of tasks by arranging pieces on a circuit board. Also, don’t miss this opportunity to talk to real-life engineers and learn about the cool stuff they get paid to do every day.
SMU’s Visioneering
Visioneering brings together students, working engineers, innovators, and noted national figures from a variety of industries and businesses to celebrate the ways that engineering makes a difference in the world around us. It gives students the opportunity to play “engineer for the day!” For students in grade 6, 7 or 8.
