NAGC position announcement: Parent Outreach Specialist
JOB SUMMARY
The Parent Outreach Specialist works closely with the Executive Director, Senior Director of Membership and Marketing, and other staff to achieve the objectives of NAGC, particularly in the areas of increasing parent engagement by building awareness about NAGC and its parent resources, promoting NAGC’s parent content to new audiences, and supporting current parent members in concert with the staff and Parenting for High Potential (PHP) editor. The position breaks into three general categories:
1. Website/information aggregation: Identifying and packaging information that can be shared electronically and through other dissemination vehicles; monitor parent communities, social media, and a variety of websites related to parent issues.
2. Relationship building: Build relationships with parent organizations (beyond the NAGC membership base) such as the National PTA, homeschoolers association, other gifted associations, Head Start, and the national talent searches.
3. Communications: Raise visibility and distribution of The Parenting for High Potential periodical with a variety of stakeholders; Work with staff and parent leaders to transition a rich knowledge base into new parent member benefits, products and services—to include “Parent Briefs,” awareness brochures, and other collateral materials.
