Get to know your 2012-2013 CGA campus representatives

The Coppell Gifted Association is so grateful that we have such wonderful volunteers that represent CGA at each campus.Your campus reps are a great resource; we hope this will help you get to know them a bit.

Austin Elementary- Dawn de Leon Parry
Dawn is working towards becoming a high school English teacher, hopefully for CISD.  She is a former attorney who practiced corporate and contract litigation. She holds an Associate’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in English, and a Juris Doctorate from Temple School of Law.  She is married with three children, all of whom attend Austin Elementary.  Dawn is active in the Austin PTO and co-chairs their fund raising committee.  She loves music, movies, reading, and Philadelphia, her hometown.

Cottonwood Elementary-  May Olson
May has been a Coppell resident for over 20 years. She is the mom of 3 girls. She and her husband own several SportClips, including the  local Coppell one. She grew up in Houston,TX, and went to college at The University of Texas in Austin. She spent a year studying aboard in Florence,Italy. May graduated with a Degree in Business (Marketing and Finance) followed by an MBA through the University of Dallas in Las Colinas. She has worked in corporate America for a couple of different companies, including NCR/ AT&T in sales, finance and management before “retiring” to be a full time parent in 2000.

Denton Creek Elementary- Nisha Shah
Nisha is a trained Artist and a Fashion designer. She is a founder of Falak Arts, and been teaching young minds to focus, learn discipline, improve motor skills and gain confidence through the medium of Art. She also owns and operates a boutique of exclusive designer garments. In her free time she likes to paint, and spend quality time with her family. She is a proud mom of 2 daughters a 1st and 5th grader in DCE. She takes pleasure in volunteering at seniors citizen center in coppell, by teaching  drawing and painting to the seniors.

Lakeside Elementary- Lisa Hollen
Lisa is married with two daughters.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Education.When she is not volunteering at Lakeside or shuttling her kids to their many activities, she loves to read and spend time with friends.

Mockingbird Elementary- Andi Pafford
Andi is a recruiter for Sentari Technolgies and the owner of The Orange Apple that specializes in graphic design and t-shirt printing. This is her first year as the representative for Mockingbird Elementary. She holds a BFA in psychology. She is married and has two children.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her children play sports, working on freelance graphic design projects and working out.

Pinkerton Elementary- Bethany Henze
Bethany has four children in CISD; three at Pinkerton Elementary and one at Coppell Middle School West. A stay-at-home Mom, she is extremely busy volunteering at both schools, church and with multiple community groups. Along with CGA and both school PTOs, Bethany sits on the board of the Coppell Community Chorale as well as the Coppell Arts Council.  She enjoys singing, reading, spending time with her kids and loves a fall Sunday afternoon spent watching football.

Town Center Elementary- Taria Greenberg
Taria Greenberg received her Master’s degree in education from The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. She served on the faculty at Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas, where she was involved in curriculum development for medical students and physicians. Most recently, Taria has been consulting with BCM on the development of Web 2.0 and Just-In-Time information and educational tools for medical, continuing, and patient education. Taria is currently working as a professional artist; her prints have been exhibited in galleries in Maryland and Washington, D.C., and she has an online shop through Etsy.com under the name “Taria, Ink”. She is also at home with her two children, who attend Town Center Elementary.

Valley Ranch Elementary-Neha Kunte
Neha Kunte is a CEO and owner of MNK Infotech, an award winning full service consulting firm specializing in IT staffing and Software development. She is an experienced professional with diverse executive and management experience in the IT industry. Neha holds a Bachelors’ degree in Financial Accounting from the University of Mumbai, India, degree in Japanese Language and Indian Classical dance. Neha is actively involved in community events and volunteer programs such as IIWC, Irving Chamber, GDAACC, Japan America Society and IANT.

Wilson Elementary – Edna Ramos 
Edna works as a Substitute Teacher for CISD, as a volunteer Catechist at St. Ann, and is a member of the CISD’s SHAC Committee as well as the Dual Language Immersion Parent Advisory Committee. Edna is married to José R. Torres and is the mother of two boys (12 yrs. old at West and 9 yrs. old at Wilson). She has a Bachelor in Labor Relations and worked in Human Resources for pharmaceutical companies before deciding to stay at home to take care of her sons. During her free time she enjoys photography, reading, gardening and tennis.

CMS East- Patricia Powell
This is Patricia’s 3rd year serving as a Campus Rep for CGA — first at Austin Elementary, and currently at CMSE.  She holds a graduate degree in communication disorders and an undergraduate degree in Elementary Education.  Although Patricia is a midwest girl at heart, she has enjoyed living in Coppell for the last 8 years.  She is a wife and mother of three. Her children attend Mockingbird Elementary and CMSE.

CMS North- Denise Friend 
Denise spent 10+ years in the health benefits/insurance industry before hanging up her corporate hat to be a stay at home Mom for her daughter (7th grader) and her step-daughter (3rd year at University of Houston).  She was an active volunteer at Town Center Elementary and served on its PTO Board for 6 years.  She is looking forward to serving with CGA and North’s PTO this year.

CMS West- Lori Chow
Lori is a stay at home mom for her two boys.  She used to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 11 years.  Now she drives the boys wherever they need to be.  They attend CMSW and Cottonwood Creek.  She has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration.  She enjoys reading, traveling, movies and taking care of the boys.

Coppell High School- Amy Foley
Amy is currently a stay-at-home mom, but worked 21 years previously in a Human Resource capacity with Allstate Insurance. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama. Amy has been married 28 years to Bill and they have 2 sons, who both attend Coppell High School. She volunteers on several committees at CHS and also enjoys reading, watching sports and attending her sons baseball and soccer games. She is also an avid Alabama fan, making trips often to see her favorite sports team play football.

New Tech High School- Jenny Quonoey 
Jenny and her husband Chris have two sons; one at New Tech High and the other at Coppell Middle School East.  Originally from Australia, they now live in Valley Ranch.  Jenny enjoys volunteering at the schools and with the Boy Scouts.
