Educators: Bring Robotics into the classroom
This summer, UTD would like to invite teachers and coaches who are interested in learning how to use robots in their classrooms or how to coach a robotics team to participate in two, week long training sessions, Middle School Robotics with LEGO Mindstorms and Secondary Robotics with Tetrix.
During the workshop teachers and coaches will learn the technical aspects of putting a robot together and programming it. You will also learn how to teach with robots. There are a growing number of studies on how robotics supports Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) teaching. You will learn how robots can be used to teach algebra, geometry, physics, biology, technology and design. Robots provide a unique opportunity to integrate the teaching of all the STEM subjects. Much of our time in both courses will be devoted to exploring ways to use robots as a theme for teaching STEM subjects.
