“Understanding and Influencing the Brain”

This presentation will provide parents with an overview of the basic physiology of the brain, stages of development and some principles of how the brain learns. With this knowledge, parents can gain new insight to elicit optimal learning practices and behaviors from their children.
Mrs. Charlebois holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from SUNY – State University of New York and a Masters of Arts from the University of Rochester. She also holds a gifted endorsement from SMU, reading certification and administrator’s certification from the University of North Texas. She has been an educator in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD since 1986. Prior to assuming the position of Executive Director, she was a teacher at Janie Stark and Long Middle School, and a gifted specialist and coordinator in Advanced Academic Services. She is a state and national presenter of curriculum, gifted education, and brain based learning.
