2013-2014 CGA volunteer positions

May 13, 2013

We still have a few open positions and volunteer opportunities for the upcoming school year.

The Campus Rep position is an ideal starter position for those interested in getting involved with CGA. Campus Reps are the “face” of CGA at their campus, they serve as a liaison between CGA and the campus GT teacher and parents. Campus Reps meet once a month for a “communication meeting” and are responsible for the transfer of information between CGA and their respective campuses. We are still accepting applications for campus reps for CMS North, CMS East, CHS, Denton Creek, and Austin

Eblast coordinatorAs the name suggests, this person shall be responsible for preparing and sending out timely e-blasts about upcoming programs and events, and CGA-related news to members, as needed. This person works directly with the Publicity Chair and Newsletter Chair. Minimal copywriting and editing skills are required. The time commitment averages 3-4 hours per month and is pretty flexible, so its a great opportunity for someone that wants to get involved with CGA but doesn’t have a lot of time.

Creative Writing Competition committee.  Help coordinate the annual creative writing competition.  Participation on the committee does not prevent your child from participating in this event, designed to celebrate passionate young writers in grades 3-12.

For more information about these positions or for other ways to get involved in CGA, please contact Amanda O’Neal.  You may also visit the About page to read the CGA bylaws which give details about the duties as well.
