Gifted Matters – January 2016
Welcome to the January 2016 edition of Gifted Matters, the newsletter for CGA members. Each edition features articles for parents, teachers and the CISD community at large.
Happy new year 2016! We have you had a great holiday season and are ready for a wonderful new year.
TAGT Conference : Feedback from Sponsored Educators and Administrators
CGA provided scholarships to 29 of our teachers and administrators to attend the TAGT conference held in San Antonio, TX. The attendees represented all the campuses in CISD. We are proud to have supported our teachers who are always ready to learn, share and grow at every opportunity they get. We have received some wonderful feedback from the attendees. Speaker Series and Student Event
Parents – Join us for an interactive talk with Kathy about math education and how math can be fun! Math education should move beyond standardized tests and rote learning and, instead, develop and nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and the techniques necessary to approach and solve difficult and interesting problems.
Students – While parents attend the discussion, a math class on basic Game Theory, will be taught by Mr. Naoki Sato, former Director of Worldwide Online Olympiad Training
Details of the event can be found and the link to register your student for the event can be found here .
