Imagine a five-year-old boy sliding across his family’s carpet marveling at the static electricity he created. A few years later he uses the telescope, microscope and his magazine subscription to Scientific American to explore with his curious mind. This boy grew into a man mesmerized by the idea of space flight. Please meet the father of modern Rocketry, Robert Goddard.
Goddard is to rocketry as Franklin is to electricity. Unfortunately for Goddard in his day space flight was not considered real science. Thankfully because of his discoveries we know it’s not only possible, but his research remains the cornerstone of today’s space travel.
Is your child interested in the science of rocketry? Perhaps your child’s love of kite-flying and balloon-chasing could be disguising her desire to fly a rocket. Or just maybe your son’s fascination with the Diet Coke and Mentos rocket has him itching to try a different type of rocket.

    Hello Future Rocket Launchers,

We at the Coppell Gifted Association has decided to move our Rocket event to the Spring! I hope this will accommodate your schedules and see your child’s face at the future date.

We are currently looking at April but have not set the date.

I apologize for any inconvenience but more importantly grateful for giving your child the opportunity to expand their knowledge.

If you have questions, please contact Elisa Roby (studentevents@coppellgifted.org)
