Welcome to CGA’s Campus Reps for 2013-2014

Our campus reps are the face of CGA at our various campuses; they serve as a liaison between CGA and  your campus GT specialists. They are a great resource and we hope these brief resumes will help you get to know them better.

Communications Secretary: Jeff Jordan

Jeff has worked in Information Technology in Financial Services for the past 25 years, since graduating from college with a BS in Computer Engineering from Oklahoma City University.  He has served the CGA previously in roles as the CMSN campus representative and Board Secretary.   He has resided in Coppell for 13 years, and has served on the Board of Directors of the TCE PTO, Coppell YMCA, Dallas Ultimate Association, and Pyrotechnic Artists of Texas.  Jeff is married to Lisa; they have a daughter who is enrolled in the 9th grade at CHS.

Coppell High School: Roya Tompkins

Looking forward to serving another year on the CGA board.  Roya is an active volunteer parent in CISD schools as well as in her community.  She is married with two sons, a 9th grader at CHS and a 5th grader at Denton Creek.  She is self-employed and works part-time providing consulting and contract services to several different healthcare providers.  She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters in Science. In her free time she enjoys reading, photography, and spending time with her family.

New Tech High @ Coppell: Jenny Quonoey

Jenny and her husband Chris have two sons; one at New Tech High and the other at Coppell Middle School East.  Originally from Australia, they now live in Valley Ranch.  Jenny enjoys volunteering at the schools and with the Boy Scouts.

Coppell Middle School East: Karen Cook

Karen has been involved with CGA in many ways over the past years, serving as Secretary, MOSAIC Director and now CMS East Representative.  She currently is employed at the Coppell Chamber of Commerce and enjoys helping local business grow.  Karen has two GT children (high school and middle school) and is married to a pastor at GracePoint Church.

Coppell Middle School North: Marla Williams

Marla is a stay-at-home chauffeur to her twin 7th grade boys with a part time gig as a rental property manager and Scentsy consultant.  She’s also the team manager and USA Hockey registrar for the boys’ hockey team.   In her spare time she volunteers with her two beagle therapy dogs within the Baylor Hospital System.  She was previously the Campus Rep for Lakeside Elementary for two years.  She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History and a Master of Arts in Human Resource Development from the University of Oklahoma.   Her past careers include being a Project and Program Manager within the telecommunications industry and a Corporate Trainer within both the Telecommunications and Insurance industries

Coppell Middle School West: Lori Chow

Lori is a stay at home mom for her two boys.  She used to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers for 11 years.  Now she drives the boys wherever they need to be.  They attend CMSW and Cottonwood Creek.  She has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration.  She enjoys reading, traveling, movies and taking care of the boys.

Cottonwood Creek Elementary: May Olsen

May has been a Coppell resident for over 20 years. Her three girls are at Cottonwood Creek, CMSW and NTH@C. She and her husband own several SportClips, including the  local Coppell one. She grew up in Houston,TX, and went to college at The University of Texas in Austin. She spent a year studying abroad in Florence,Italy. May graduated with a Degree in Business (Marketing and Finance) followed by an MBA through the University of Dallas in Las Colinas. She has worked in corporate America for a couple of different companies, including NCR/ AT&T in sales, finance and management before “retiring” to be a full time parent in 2000.

Denton Creek Elementary: Rosie Florentino

Rosie is currently working part-time as a Preschool Teacher.  She has a 5th grader and a 3rd grader at DCE. She is an active volunteer at school and St. Ann. In addition, she is an active mom of two scouts.  Rosie is very excited to be a school rep for CGA.

Lakeside Elementary: Lisa Hollen

Lisa is married with two daughters.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Education. When she is not volunteering at Lakeside or shuttling her kids to their many activities, she loves to read and spend time with friends.

Lakeside Elementary: Brianna Hinojosa-Flores

This is Brianna’s first year as Lakeside Rep. She has a son in Grade 3, and a 4 year old daughter. She has lived in Coppell since 2002 and served on Coppell City Council for 7 yrs. She had the privilege of serving on the GT evaluation committee last Spring. She is also a patent attorney for BlackBerry and an active member of the Coppell YMCA Board, the TAGT Advocacy Committee and the LaunchAbility Board (aka Early Childhood Intervention).  She chairs the Las Colinas Medical Center Board and the Lakeside Health and Safety Committee. She is very excited about the path our GTi learners will be taking in CISD and she looks forward to working to continue serving gifted kids.

Mockingbird Elementary: Andi Pafford

Andi is a recruiter for Sentari Technolgies and the owner of The Orange Apple that specializes in graphic design and t-shirt printing. This is her second year as the representative for Mockingbird Elementary. She holds a BFA in psychology. She is married and has two children.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching her children play sports, working on freelance graphic design projects and working out.

Mockingbird Elementary:  Joel & Susan Zeff

Pinkerton Elementary: Karissa Monroe

Karissa has two children that attend Pinkerton Elementary; one in second grade, and one in Kindergarten. She also has a preschooler who will be at Pinkerton in just a few years. Karissa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from Baylor University, and afterward completed a nutrition internship at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas to become a Registered Dietitian. She worked in clinical nutrition for many years in both hospitals, and in physician offices as a nutrition consultant. Karissa now enjoys staying busy as an At-home Mom serving on Pinkerton’s PTO board, as room parent for her children’s classrooms, and getting her daughters where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Town Center Elementary: Parul Singh

Parul graduated in English literature (Hons), after which she did an MBA in marketing management. She worked in brand management for Advertising Agencies like Grey advertising and Euro RSCG. She is now a stay-at-home mom of two girls, a ten and a five year old. She enjoys cooking, gardening and volunteering her time teaching phonics at her daughter’s preschool.

Valley Ranch Elementary: Rohini Brahme

Rohini works in the area of building energy efficiency and sustainability. She has two boys and likes reading, painting, crafts and volunteers at Valley Ranch Elementary.

Wilson Elementary: Shannon Blatt

Shannon has an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications and worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 12 years before deciding to become a stay-home mother.  She is currently finishing up a Master of Arts degree in English at the University of Dallas, where her particular area of interest is in the works of Jane Austen. Her daughter, Jessica, graduated from Coppell High School in 2009 and is working in Hollywood for the Syfy Network.  Her son, Joshua, is in first grade at Wilson and her husband Larry is a financial advisor.  She enjoys reading, traveling, and, especially, cooking.
